Thumbnail Analysis (TubeLog Score)

AI-powered thumbnail grading using DeepGaze eye-tracking and CLIP content relevance scoring

Thumbnail Analysis — TubeLog Score

TubeLog Score is a composite AI grade (0–100) that evaluates how effective your YouTube thumbnail is likely to be at driving clicks.

#How It Works

TubeLog Score combines two AI models:

| Model | What It Measures | Weight | |-------|-----------------|--------| | DeepGaze (eye-tracking AI) | Where viewers look first — predicts visual attention heatmap | 50% | | CLIP (content relevance) | How well the thumbnail image matches its title/topic | 50% |

#DeepGaze Eye-Tracking

DeepGaze is a deep neural network trained on human eye-tracking data. It generates a saliency heatmap showing where a viewer's gaze is drawn within the first 3 seconds of seeing your thumbnail.

  • Bright red/orange zones = high attention areas
  • Blue/green zones = low attention areas
  • Your subject's face, text, and high-contrast areas typically score highest

#CLIP Content Relevance

CLIP (Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining) measures how semantically aligned your thumbnail image is with your video's title and topic.

  • Score above 70 = strong alignment
  • Score below 40 = thumbnail may confuse viewers or misrepresent content

#TubeLog Score Grades

| Grade | Score | Meaning | |-------|-------|---------| | S | 85–100 | Excellent — high CTR potential | | A | 70–84 | Good — above average performance | | B | 55–69 | Average — improvement recommended | | C | 40–54 | Below average — significant changes needed | | D | 0–39 | Poor — consider redesigning |

#Score Breakdown

After analysis, you'll see:

  • Overall TubeLog Score (0–100)
  • Eye-tracking score — DeepGaze saliency rating
  • Relevance score — CLIP semantic alignment
  • CTR prediction — Estimated click-through rate compared to your channel average

#Heatmap Viewer

The heatmap overlay shows exactly where viewers' eyes are predicted to land. Use this to:

  • Verify your subject/face is in a high-attention zone
  • Check that key text is readable and in a visible area
